I've thought alot about #GivingTuesday and have honestly asked myself, "Why us?" When there are so many deserving organizations for you to donate to, why is Open Hearts for Orphans one charity you should SAY YES to on #GivingTuesday?

With that thought, my mind was drawn to our special "Say Yes" grant program and how we've yet to fully focus on this part of our ministry in 2017. It all came clear, and I contacted Holt International, the agency who matched us with our beautiful trinity of boys in the Murphy family. I asked them send us the profiles for twelve kids, like the twelve days of Christmas - TWELVE KIDS who are considered the most URGENT and whose needs are great. TWELVE KIDS whose families have yet to find them. TWELVE KIDS who don't care about ipads or x-boxes, or toys, or all the stuff we take for granted in our world.

They just want families to SAY YES for Christmas.

This is the thing - I know we're not all called or equipped to adopt for a variety of reasons - we're struggling with that right here in our own home. But surely we can work together to help equip those who ARE called, right? All we need to raise is $6,000 and EVERY SINGLE ONE of the kids on Holt International's “Urgent 10+” tab would have a grant offered for their adoption! And even some of their other kids who've waited way too long would have a grant too - a small offering to let them know they are loved and cared for while they wait. Can we do this? Together, can we lock arms - lock HEARTS - and DO THIS? Meet the kids and then you decide if you should say yes...to them, and to us on this #GivingTuesday.

If you are on Facebook, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is MATCHING donations that are made through Facebook on #GivingTuesday. I'll be posting our donate buttons and fundraiser there, too, should you wish to help us meet the goal and double our money for waiting children.
